My Erasmus+ stay in Norway
Fishing lobsters
Private
I flew to Kristiansand for 5 weeks right at the start of school, accompanied by Professor Rainer. After I landed, I drove inland because the classes I was attending were going on a camping trip. Immediately I was surprised with a homemade burger and then we had a fun evening with lots of laughter, games and a campfire. The next day we climbed a “mountain”, which for me as a Tyrolean was more like a hill.
Everyday school life in Norway is very different from ours: Lessons don't end until 3.15 pm every day, I had PE lessons every day, pupils address teachers by their first names, to name just a few examples.
Private
I stayed with two very nice host families. I was able to experience many different activities, e.g. hiking, kayaking, fishing, lobster fishing, a typical Norwegian cabin weekend and marvel at Norway's spectacular nature.
One highlight was the video call with my class from Austria for my birthday during a sports studies lesson. All the students enjoyed it.
Overall, the stay was very enriching and I would go to Norway again in a heartbeat.
